The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday.
Closed Mondays, except for most school holidays.

The Museum's Café, Snack Zone, is open Tuesday — Friday 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Boogie Woogie Wednesdays:
Time Warner Cable and Borough President James Molinaro present Boogie Woogie Wednesdays. Museum admission is free after 5:00 p.m. A “light bite” (pizza and fruit drink) is served at 6:00 p.m.(while supplies last) and dancing begins at 7:00 p.m. Don’t forget to pack your dancing shoes because after a dance demonstration, you’ll learn the steps and join in the fun.

July 9th Salsa: "Salsa" is the Spanish word for sauce, and in this case of this dance, a spicy Afro-Caribbean mixture with roots in Cuba, Puerto Rico and the United States.

July 16th Gypsy/Flamenco/Belly Dancing: Circle the globe at breakneck speed while exploring three different styles of dance from Russia, Spain and the Middle East.

July 23rd Afro-Peruvian Dance: The unique Afro-Peruvian dance style & drum-inspired instrumentation is unlike any
other Latin American form.

July 30th Irish Step Dancing: Celebrate the beauty and culture of Ireland with lively jigs and reels with Dawn Daniels and members of the Dance Theatre of Staten Island.

August 6th Mambo: Mambo dancing went straight from Cuba to ballrooms across the globe.

August 13th Zumba: The name Zumba comes from a Colombian word meaning to move fast and have fun and includes aerobic exercise to Latin rhythms.

August 20th Northern Indian: Kathak: Although the word kathak means, "to tell a story,” today this ancient dance form is primarily an abstract exploration of rhythm and movement.

August 27th Hip-Hop Dance: Not even 30 years old, Hip Hop was born on the streets and has been growing in popularity ever since.

Admission

$5 for people one year of age and older.

Members are admitted free

Grandparents are free on Wednesdays!

Public transportation:

To get to the Children's Museum, take the Staten Island Ferry, hop on the S40 bus at the ferry terminal to the Snug Harbor Road stop.

Driving:

From Staten Island Expressway (Rte 278) take Exit 13 ( Clove Road ). Proceed to Clove Road intersection and turn North on Clove Road (right if coming from Brooklyn, left if coming from New Jersey ). Take Clove Road six traffic lights to Bard Avenue . Turn Right on Bard Avenue and follow to the end (Richmond Terrace). Turn right on Richmond Terrace and go three blocks to Tysen Street . Turn Right on Tysen and go one block to Fillmore St . Turn right and enter Snug Harbor . Parking for the Children's Museum is immediately to the left of the entrance.

The Staten Island Children’s Museum is committed to making its exhibitions, programs, and services accessible to all who visit.

Parking

Designated parking locations are found in the East Parking Lot, opposite the Children’s Museum and just inside the Fillmore Street entrance.

Accessible Exhibitions

Most components of all exhibitions are wheelchair accessible. Because of the unique nature of our exhibits, portions of Great Explorations, Block Harbor and Portia’s Playhouse are not accessible, but include parallel activities for visitors who use wheelchairs.
· For more information about specific exhibitions within the Children’s Museum, please inquire at the Admissions Desk in the main building.

Service Animals
· Appropriately documented guide dogs and animals for assisted therapy are welcome in the Children’s Museum!
